Hannah and Emma survey their Christmas loot. Hannah's gifts from Santa were a scooter and karaoke machine. Emma received a doll nursery.
Jake plays with his first tackle box. He also got a top tooth for Christmas!
Of course Santa wouldn't forget to bring Jake his first football!

Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, we enjoyed an early dinner (ham, turkey, greens, cracklin' bread, butterbeans, stuffing, lemon pie) and then went to a candlelight service at our church. Here are Bobo and Grandmama with the children before we head out to church.
Mimi with the children.
Our Party of Five
One of our Christmas Eve traditions is to read "The Night Before Christmas". This year Hannah read it to all of us. Then we all enjoyed opening one gift.

Celebration in the Oaks
Before Christmas, we headed down to City Park in Metaire, Louisiana to their festival of lights. The entire park (just recently reopened since Katrina) was decorated with thousands of lights and decorations. It was just beautiful. The children all enjoyed themselves so much......and so did we!
There were trains set up everywhere with miniature replicas of New Orleans landmarks like the cathedral in Jackson Square. This one is a bayou cabin!
Paul and Jake walk through the park looking at the lights.
Mimi, Paul, Hannah, Emma, and Jake enjoy the laser show.
