A Birthday Celebration In Florida

For my mother's 60th birthday, we surprised her with a week long trip to beautiful Cape San Blas, Florida. I'll never forget the look on her face when I told her we were going. She was so excited. We'd had this trip planned for close to a year so we could hardly wait to get there. We rented an awesome house right on the beach with it's own pool. And except for the absence of my brother, Wally, who is serving in Iraq, it was an absolutely perfect week. Paul and the girls went out to the beach everyday and then into the pool. Momma relaxed on a float in the water daily as well. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen her so relaxed! Jake surprised us by giving us his first smiles while we were there. And I even ran into my college roommate who was also there for the week. It was all incredible!
Paul and Hannah enjoy some time on the beach
Jake loved hanging out in his bouncy seat on the deck or porch.
This is the view from the deck of the house we rented. We enjoyed a week's worth of beautiful sunsets every single night.

Hannah and Emma enjoy the pool at the house.

Jake enjoys some R&R in Mimi's lap. We like to call this "milk drunk"!
We enjoyed dinner at the marina on our last night in Florida.
